Not much else to do in this crazy cold weather than to read…

Pretty Girls Dancing – Kylie Brant
Kylie Brant’s newest thriller takes place in small town Ohio, where a young teenage girl has just been kidnapped. The story is told from a multitude of points of view – You are with Whitney as she sneaks out of her home late at night to meet the teen that she’s become close to via social media, and then experience her kidnapping and subsequent treatment through her eyes. You meet the parents and sister of Kelsey, who vanished under similar circumstances many years before, and you meet the law enforcement team that’s called into investigate Whitney’s disappearance. Each chapter focuses on a different character, and the secrets each persona holds as investigators race to rescue Whitney before it’s too late.
I have to admit, while I was initially put off by the way the story was told from the purview of each character, as the story progresses and events are revealed, it all comes together quite nicely. And while some readers always claim to be able to see the protagonist well before he/she is revealed, this book had me guessing until the end – and I was still wrong. If you like a great mystery/police procedural, then this novel is for you!! Looking forward to more from Kylie Brant!

Hi there! I am Mel and I love to read!! My favorite genres are typically mystery/thriller, adventure/suspense and occasionally chick lit/romance stories (when the mystery/thrillers get to be too much, which isn't too often!) I have just started to write reviews for Amazon, Goodreads and this blog, although I am a novice to blogging, so THIS is a work in progress - as you can see the reviews are numerous and the true blogs are few - I'll hopefully be improving on that as time goes on!! I'm looking to network, give some newer authors some exposure and to perhaps explore myself a bit in this whole process!! I am a critical care turned CDI nurse, recently transplanted to coastal Florida, from New England. (Would love to assist with medical/hospital verbiage/scenes for authors!) I love a great cup (or pot) of coffee, day trips, visiting state parks and other nature made places, and exploring/photographing wildlife. And birds...I am a HUGE bird/nature nerd!! Thanks for stopping by! :)
